Fight to keep our post offices open. (Read the contained resolution and act to be a part of the solution)

“KEEP ‘EM OPEN!”

What happens when the Postmaster General shuts down your Postal Facility?

Mail is slowed down:

  • Checks, medicines, payments, bills
  • Newspapers, church bulletins, books, magazines
  • Special greeting cards, holiday cards and letters
  • Advertisements, sale circulars, discount coupons
  • Election campaign materials and mail-in ballots

The law says the PMG is mandated to serve everyone with prompt, reliable, and efficient services no matter where they live (city or rural) and regardless of income (rich or poor).  In other words, all households are to receive equal service.

If your Plant is consolidated in 2015, overnight mail service in your community will worsen and mail will be slowed down nationwide

When the Postmaster General changes the Service Standards January 5, 2015 quality mail service will be reduced as the requirement to deliver mail overnight is eliminated and mail is received later in the day.  That’s not all!   Your community will suffer due to small businesses being adversely affected and possibly closing, stable living wage jobs disappearing, and lost payroll, sales, and property taxes.  Rural areas will be hard hit.  Customer loyalty will decrease causing business to be lost.  Congressional Members must act before December 20, 2014, or it will be too late.
